The latest EastSide Session features Michael Cunningham, a singer-songwriter from Belfast. He has just released his debut album “Hidden Treasure” and is playing an intimate, unplugged gig, in the EastSide Visitor Centre on Friday 2nd of March.
His music is a blend of memorable melodies and heart-tugging lyrics. He is joined on the night by Shane McVicker on keyboards and vocals.
Young people from Bloomfield and Orangefield took part in a street art workshop on Sunday organised by Seedhead Arts.
They learned some spray skills and techniques from local street artist Emic, contributed to a group artwork and made their own piece using stencils to take home.
Sadly the Wardrobe Jam event due to take place this weekend in C.S. Lewis Square has been cancelled. Unfortunately given the nature of this outdoor event and current adverse weather conditions this was the only course of action to best ensure everyone's safety.
The Home Project 2: Food for Thought showcase will take place on Friday 9th February in St Martin's Church.
The Home Project is an intercultural arts programme which has been exploring the theme of food and its role in different communities in east Belfast. The project is a collaboration between EastSide Arts and intercultural theatre company Terra Nova Productions.
The February EastSide Sessions features No Horns, a jazz trio based in Belfast. They enjoy performing their exciting arrangements of jazz standards which feature the beautiful guitar work of Mateusz Chmielewski with the rhythm section of Jack Kelly (Bass Fiddle) and Ben Flavelle-Cobain (Drums).
They have previously played at EastSide Visitor Centre during the first Jazz @ JACK event in December and got a great response from the captive audience.
