EastSide Partnership is a broad based social partnership with community, statutory, political and business members who are dedicated to the regeneration of East Belfast. We were formed in June 1995 (founded in July 1996) with the responsibility to get stakeholder organisations to work together to develop and implement plans for the social, economic, environmental and cultural regeneration of east Belfast.

Board membership includes:

  • local council
  • statutory sector agencies
  • community sector organisations
  • independents

Statutory bodies represented on the Partnership include Belfast Regeneration Directorate (BRD), Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) and the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust (BHSCT). A wide range of statutory agencies are also involved in the various working groups set up by the Partnership.

We currently have three independent representatives on the Board from East Belfast Enterprise, independent management consulting, local business and real estate.

Our eight community sector representatives are nominated by East Belfast Community Development Agency (EBCDA), which has a membership of over 150 groups from across east Belfast.

The Partnership also works with a number of other organisations in a Belfast-wide context. These include the other Belfast Area Partnerships (BAPs) covering South and West Belfast along with Greater Shankill, and a range of funding agencies. Our main day to day relationships are with the Department for Communitues (DfC) and Belfast City Council (BCC).
