Inspiring Belfast

We are currently recruiting for two Climate Action roles in EastSide Greenways

Thanks to National Lottery players, EastSide Greenways has received over £1.3 million over five years from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK. The grant will support the  EastSide Climate Action project, which aims to empower people living in areas of disadvantage to connect to conversations around climate change and shape how climate action could improve their community and the lives of the people in it.

The project will deliver a range of activities including workshops on climate literacy; promote sustainability; support a food growing project and create a community green space.

1. Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will be the main point of contact and support for the EastSide Greenways volunteer team including recruitment, induction and retention through meaningful year-round volunteer opportunities.

You will focus on building strong relationships, coordinating volunteer activities, and helping volunteers feel motivated, valued, and connected to the organisation’s mission.

2. Research, Impact and Communications Officer

The Research, Impact and Communications Officer will play a key role in raising the profile of the EastSide Greenways Climate Action fund, strengthening its brand, and engaging the public through clear, creative, and compelling messaging.

The Climate Action project will work in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast to support the primary data collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of the impact of the Climate Action project.

The role is also responsible for delivering high-quality marketing content, managing social media and digital channels, and supporting campaigns that highlight the projects, achievements, and community impact.

By producing accessible communications and storytelling that celebrates positive change, the officer helps demonstrate the difference the Climate Action project makes to inspire wider participation, impact measurement and awareness.
