Two new pieces of street art were unveiled by EastSide Partnership as part of the EastSide Urban Gallery project funded by the Urban Villages Initiative. London based street artists Irony and Artista, in association with Seedhead Arts, have been putting their trademarks on two walls in the heart of east Belfast. The Urban Gallery project aims to use art and creativity to enhance places and spaces in east Belfast for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Anthony Toner returns to EastSide Sessions for a special show on Friday 31st May as part of celebrations for his new album Our Lady of the Wind and Rain.

Results from a study evaluating the economic, environmental, health and social impacts of the Connswater Community Greenway were announced at an event held at Riddel Hall (25th March).   The Physical Activity and Rejuvenation of the Connswater (PARC) Study was an 8 year research project conducted by Queen’s University Belfast and funded by the National Prevention Research Initiative and Medical Research Council in partnership with EastSide Partnership and Connswater Community Greenway Trust

Northern Ireland is getting ready to host Project Dance, a first of its kind creative learning weekend of everything dance. The event will take place at Ashfield Girls’ High School from 2nd – 4th  August during this year’s EastSide Arts Festival.  Project Dance will feature a range of dance styles for all abilities and all ages across 40 + workshops and seminars. Top dance industry professionals will be on hand to help encourage all participants to try a new skill as well as help them to progress within their particular area of interest.

The Reading Fair is a colourful and friendly free event for parents to access information and advice to support their child’s reading and will provide space for showcasing the support on offer from a range of agencies including; Dept. of Education, Libraries NI, Museums NI, Save the Children and the Book Trust.

Walking Netball is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. The game has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level.

From those who have dropped out of the sport they love due to serious injury, to those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers many years ago, it really is for everyone.

C.S. Lewis Square has a new feature – the Poetry Jukebox. 

Only 52 jukeboxes exist across global locations and this is Belfast’s second ( the other location is Crescent Arts Centre).  The Poetry Jukebox is placed on street locations with the aim of making poetry accessible to all.
