EastSide Partnership- 25th Anniversary- Throwbacks- 3 of 25

Our third 25th anniversary throwback of our regeneration work is to November 2007 when the Connswater Community Greenway project received £23.5 million from the The National Lottery Community Fund Northern Ireland. Funding was also received from Belfast City Council, our long term delivery partner on the project, Department for Communities and, following flood events, DARD’s Rivers Agency, turning the project into a £43m investment in east Belfast.

 

Completed in 2017 the Connswater Community Greenway is a vital resource in the community and has included the development of C.S. Lewis Square, heritage and tourism trails, the moving of the Knock River, new bridges, paths and play parks and a wide range of events and activities.

 

This project would not have happened without the engagement and support of our local community and stakeholders and something we should all be proud of #EastSide
