A Sense of Place Exhibition Opens

EastSide Visitor Centre is hosting its first art exhibition in the centre. First Minister, Arlene Foster and Speaker of the NI Assembly Robin Newton MLA were our guests of honour at the opening of the A Sense of Place exhibition by Ulster University Belfast School of Art students on Monday 17th October.

About the Exhibition

In March 2016 a successful collaboration between the Northern Ireland Assembly and the Belfast School of the Art (Ulster University) produced 16 pieces of artwork which explored aspects of Northern Ireland’s shared history and future through a visual exploration of Parliament Buildings and the Stormont Estate. The pictures were exhibited in Parliament Buildings during the summer and are now being displayed in the EastSide Visitor Centre. The artwork is intended to reach out to new audiences encouraging them to participate in the political process and engage with the Assembly and their MLAs.

The artwork will be exhibited on the 2nd floor of the EastSide Visitor Centre from 18th October- 22nd November during centre opening hours (Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm, Sat- Sun 10am-5pm)
