EastSide Arts nominated for Best Event #NITA2016

Van Morrison
We are delighted that EastSide Arts has been shortlisted for a Northern Ireland Tourism Award 2016 in the Best Event/ Festival category for the Van Morrison: Live on Cyprus Avenue event in August 2015.

The EastSide Arts Festival, which included the Van Morrison event, was very successful in 2016 and received a huge amount of positive feedback. A large number of international visitors, who travelled to Belfast to see Van Morrison, attended a number of other festival events which enabled local artists to be exposed to an international audience. The average stay in Northern Ireland of the Republic of Ireland, Great Britain and International visitors (19 different countried including Canada, United States, New Zealand, Australia, Europe) was 7 days per person. The atmosphere on Cyprus Avenue, with the rich mix of international visitors, local fans and over 2000 residents with friends and family, was exceptional and the whole occasion was filmed and broadcast by BBC Northern Ireland ensuring great coverage of a fabulous day.

Other nominations for the award include; Circuit of Ireland Rally (Circuit of Ireland Management), Derry Inter Irish Music Festival (Culturlaan Ui Chanain), Banks of Foyle Halloween Carnival (Derry & Strabane District Council) and Irish Game Fair & Fine Food Festival (Country Lifestyle Events CLE Ltd).

The winning event will be chosen by public vote so please vote for EastSide Arts to win. Please VOTE FOR EASTSIDE ARTS before the deadline on Thursday 12th May.

You can watch the Van Morrison: Live on Cyprus Avenue- Impact on Belfast Tourism video to give you an idea of the event and what it meant to Belfast if you weren't there.
